Napoleonic Play-test

The next game will be a Napoleonic one using the 20mm Hinton Hunt armies. The purpose is to play-test my house rules "Muskets & Marshals" and hopefully give the rules their final tweak.

The armies deployed and ready for battle - Allies on the left, French on the right.

The Swedes are fighting with the French for this one.

The Duke of Wellington with his ADC look on as the Allied cavalry form up.

A view of the French centre - Napoleon is there with Marshal Ney!

The French appear to have formed a grand battery.

Russian grenadiers supported by the Nassau battalion on the Allies extreme right flank.

So that's the entire collection out on the table and ready for action, we hope to play the game in the next week or so.

  1. An impressive sized collection, how much bigger than the "original" are you now?

    1. I guess I now have about twice as many figures as I had way back then - all of those were Prussian but this is a much more mixed bag!

  3. Beautiful - a great sight. I am also very taken with the clouds view on the skyline - how do you do that? You don't live on Mount Olympus or anything?

    1. Although I look like a Greek god, Mount Olympus is an impractical place to live (although the phone reception is good) so Dave adds the cloud effect with some magic software. You can see that he has also extended the table beyond 4' wide by the same method.

    2. I just use Photoshop-style software plus unnatural amounts of patience and no day-job ... still, wargaming is all about suspension of disbelief, innit ??!!
